About Greg Kitson/Mind’s Eye Graphics:
Greg Kitson is the founder & President of Mind’s Eye Graphics, Inc. of Decatur, IN, founded in 1978 as a back-room operation of a small-town family shoe store. By 1984 the one-man screen-printing operation had replaced the shoe store and hired its first employee. Since then Mind’s Eye Graphics has grown to provide custom & contract screen-printing to decorated apparel professionals around the world. Kitson and Mind’s Eye Graphics offer industry specific technical training & business consulting at their 22,000-sq. ft. Indiana production facility as well as at client locations. This 30-year industry veteran has been a regular contributor to industry publications and seminar presentations since 1990.

Situated on the southwest side of the city of Decatur, Ind., Mind’s Eye Graphics is a bustling screen printing shop that handles a number of both national and local clients. The company has offered screen printing and related services since 1981, and the management team, including shop president Greg Kitson and IT director Rob Keuneke, have worked there for more than 25 years. For Kitson, the finished product, a screen-printed T-shirt, is just as important as the first step. As he refers to it, “connecting the dots,” is an important component to understanding and appreciating the entire screen-printing process. Surprisingly, as busy and as high volume as the shop is, the employee roster at Mind’s Eye is minimal. A competent but small crew makes up the production staff, along with employees that cover the screen reclaim duties and front office tasks. Kitson sums up the efficient, tight-knit crew in a way that could also explain why the shop is so productive. “Typically, any employee here is able to jump between six to eight tasks when needed,” explains Kitson. With a strong culture of cross-training, a key grasp of logistics, and appreciation for the raw materials of screen printing, Kitson and his staff are an embodiment of his own “connecting the dots” model.
